About Phil

Phil Benjamin was an honorary Senior Tutor at St George's Medical School, University of London from 2006 - 2009.

After many years of teaching hypnosis and hypnosis-related subjects at his own private training college, he became a qualified university lecturer, and with his company, Thames Medical Lectures, has lectured at most of the UK's medical schools including Oxford and Cambridge.

As a widely experienced clinical hypnotherapist he is registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) and is a Fellow of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis (BSCH).

In his private practice he is familiar with aiding resolution of a wide range of issues, as well as pushing forward to help bring out the best in individuals. He is expert at helping smokers become non-smokers (in one session), and – as a qualified pilot – uses his knowledge to good effect in a comprehensive and very successful treatment for flying phobics. He also has a reputation for the treatment of male psycho-sexual issues whether one-on-one or via his CDs, which are available from the Ursula James Store. More recently he has developed a highly successful treatment for addictions, specifically sexual addiction and drinking-related issues.

“I suffered from anxiety attacks for many years, which seriously reduced my quality of family life. I tried a number of therapies without success. I hadn't tried hypnotherapy as I feared a loss of control under hypnosis but Phil put me at my ease and in a few short sessions it has worked wonders for me. He has enabled me to handle my fears and start to live a more normal life.”
